Edmonds Community College Foundation
Scholarships
What scholarships are available?
Through the generosity of Edmonds Community College supporters, the Foundation has over 20 scholarships available for each academic year. All EdCC and high school students with a 2.5 GPA or above are encouraged to apply. The amount and number awarded vary from year to year based on available funding.
How do I apply?
The Foundation application is completed online. Each student creates a user profile and password. There is a section for personal information, academic information, financial information, and essay questions. There is also a questionnaire that asks a series of questions to determine which scholarship each student is eligible for. Once the application is finished, a list of scholarships the student is eligible for will be shown. In order to apply, each one has to be individually applied for by clicking on the "apply now" link. Once you have electronically applied the online application process is complete.
*Please make sure you provide a current email address you check regularly. All important communication will be sent out via email.
When can I apply?
Foundation scholarships are given out one time per year for the next school year. The online application is usually opened Winter quarter. The application due date generally falls in April. Please check our home page for the current due date.
What are the requirements?
- Applications MUST be completed by the applicant. Under no circumstances can parents, teachers or counselors complete a scholarship application for a student. No scholarship or applicant information will be discussed with or released to anyone other than the applicant, pursuant with FERPA regulations.
- Scholarship recipients are required to maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5, unless otherwise noted. Some scholarships require a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Scholarship criteria vary, some scholarships are for specific areas of study or for individuals with specific backgrounds or needs. The online application will determine your eligibility based on your questionnaire answers. Applicants will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible, assuming all pertinent and required materials are included.
- Scholarships are available for both full-time and part-time students.
- International students are welcome to apply.
If these requirements are not satisfied, the Foundation reserves the right to revoke scholarship funds for future quarters.
How are the recipients decided?
The Foundation selects a committee to read and score applications. Scores are determined through a combination of the student's academic achievement, essay answers and financial need.
When will I hear if I have received a scholarship?
Applicants will be notified by email in late spring/early summer if they have received a scholarship or not. No information will be given over the phone or by email.
